I mostly use black staz-on when stamping in black and brilliance white when stamping in white because I feel these stay on the photos the best and stamp out a really clear crisp image. I print my photos using the canon selphy which I find really good for doing this kind of decorating because it had a protective layer over the pic so a lot of the inks and stuff I glue can be fairly easily removed if I decide to change it or the stamp doesn't quite work how I want.
The only main thing I find that does effect the layers of the pictures is silicone glue or UHU, its really easy to stamp directly on the photos. I do find however that using the brilliance I find that i have to heat set it so that it dries well enough for me to put the photos back in the pockets and when doing this you have to make sure you don't focus the heat for too long in one spot other wise it buckles the photos paper. Which isn't the end of the world because it goes back pretty quickly once cooled but it just as a bit of a crumpled look which could be useful haha.
